Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority
(Maha RERA)
Maha RERA stands for Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority. It is a regulatory body established under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, which aims to regulate and promote the real estate sector in Maharashtra. The Maha RERA authority was established to bring transparency, accountability, and efficiency to the real estate sector by ensuring that all real estate projects are registered, developers comply with rules and regulations, and buyers are protected from fraudulent practices.
Maha RERA is responsible for regulating the real estate industry in Maharashtra by ensuring that all real estate projects are registered, the funds collected from buyers are utilized only for the specific project, and timely completion of the projects. It also aims to provide transparency in transactions and safeguard the interest of the buyers and investors.
All new and ongoing real estate projects in Maharashtra with a land area of more than 500 sq. meters or having more than 8 apartments need to be registered under Maha RERA. It is mandatory for all the developers to register their projects with Maha RERA to carry out any real estate transactions in Maharashtra. This helps in promoting transparency and accountability in the real estate sector and protects the rights of the homebuyers.
Pune Municipal Corporation
(PMC)
PMC stands for Pune Municipal Corporation. It is the civic body that governs the city of Pune, Maharashtra, India. Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority
(PMRDA)
PMRDA stands for Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority. It is a government agency established by the Government of Maharashtra in 2015 with the aim of planning, coordinating, and promoting the balanced development of the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).
The PMRDA covers an area of about 7,256 square kilometers and includes the urban and rural areas of Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and three adjacent districts of Maharashtra. The authority is responsible for preparing and implementing a comprehensive development plan for the region, which includes infrastructure development, land-use planning, transportation planning, environmental conservation, and the promotion of economic growth.
PMRDA is also responsible for granting approvals for various projects, such as real estate, infrastructure, and industrial projects, within the region. The authority is headed by a Metropolitan Commissioner who is appointed by the State Government.
